warning, this is probably going to piss you off and make you furious at stupid people. One moron backed down an exit ramp, because he was lost- and caused a chain reaction crash
The initial crash occurred Tulsa’s Inner Dispersal Loop around 4 p.m when a man driving a white Nissan backed down a ramp because he claimed that he was lost.
This maneuver triggered a chain reaction crash involving two other vehicles on the IDL.
Richard Hughes, 63, a trucker since 1980, was hauling an empty tanker down the IDL and came upon the crash scene. The motorists involved were standing around their crashed vehicles. Hughes says he knew that he didn’t have time to stop to avoid hitting them, so he made a split second decision to save their lives
He hit his brakes and steered his rig up a concrete embankment, hitting an overhead sign post before coming to a stop.
Hughes was pinned in his truck, broken leg, with his foot trapped against the sign post and some truck parts for two hours as firefighters worked to extract him.
The driver of the white Nissan, Michael Todd Bennett, admitted that he backed up on the ramp, he was cited for improper backing on a roadway.

the D-100 Scat Packer pickup truck.
Occasionally in the 1960s, trucks were modified and featured as special show vehicles by the manufacturers. For 1968, Dodge grabbed attention at the Chicago Auto Show with its D-100 Scat Packer pickup truck. Custom touches included Bumble-Bee stripes that ran vertically on the rear fenders and deep-dish chrome reverse wheels.

the million mile 2007 Tundra... Toyota has got to be happy with this accomplishment
Victor Sheppard averages over 125,000 miles per year, resulting in over one million miles logged on the odometer of his 2007 Toyota Tundra.
According to Toyota, Sheppard covers this insane amount of miles thanks to regular trips between his home in Louisiana to North Dakota, Wyoming, and Virginia for work. Surprisingly, the truck carries the original engine and transmission, along with the same paint from the factory. (Similarly, a 600k Toyota Prius taxi made the news http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-taxi-in-austria-is-featured-car-in.html )
Not much in the way of major maintenance was required, aside from regular maintenance including timing belts, oil changes, and the automaker’s scheduled checkups. After breaching the seven-figure mark, Sheppard calculated the 2007 Tundra visited the dealer 117 times over the past nine years.
Toyota handed him the keys to a brand-new 2016 Toyota Tundra in exchange for his Tundra so they can disassemble it and have engineers examine every component of the truck from bumper to bumper. Toyota hopes to incorporate the information gleaned from the weatherbeaten truck into future product development.

In order to help highlight some of the standout features of the Silverado HD, Chevy teamed up with 5 pro rodeo stars to form a group now known as Team Chevy Rodeo.
Nothing says ‘rough,’ ‘tough,’ and ‘rugged’ like a group of professional cowboys. Chevy showcased just how capable and reliable it’s Silverados are, creating Team Chevy Rodeo. Chevy recruited some of today’s top professional rodeo talent to make up the team, who each will get behind the wheel of their very own Silverado HD.
The marketing tactic is meant to show off the trucks’ numerous features for getting the job done, including powertrain grade braking, integrated cruise control, and diesel exhaust braking to enhance control while towing.
“This team is as hardworking on the ranch as they are in the arena,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing in a statement. “There isn’t a more authentic group to convey the message that the Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting pickup on the road.”
The team is comprised of Tuf Cooper, Fallon Taylor, Richmond Champion, Luke Branquinho, and Travis Graves.

Kaiser Frazer displays lots of guarantees, but they weren't in business much longer
Kaiser-Frazer was the only new US automaker to achieve success after World War II, if only for a few years.
Founded in 1945, Dissolved in 1952
Henry Kaiser had no automotive marketing experience; Joseph Frazer did, having been president of the Graham-Paige Corporation prior to WWII. Kaiser believed in pressing forward in the face of adversity, while Frazer was more pragmatic. As the market for Kaiser-Frazer products slowed in 1949 with the introduction of new designs from the Big Three, Kaiser pushed for more production, creating an oversupply of cars that took until mid-1950 to sell. Kaiser and Frazer disagreed until Frazer left the company in 1951, and the Frazer nameplate was dropped after a 10,000 unit production run.
