in the summer of '71 Southwest started up, and needed flight attendents, and 2 of them are still dedicated to the job, 45 years later!

Sandra Force was 26, a former Miss Tennessee, and was in Dallas at the right time to get in with the 1st hiring drive.

CJ Bostic was 23, and a former model for Rothschilds and Neiman Marcus.

What seems amazing to me.. is that there are 4 other original crew still with the airline... not many companies have lasted 45 years, and darn few of them have been good enough to work at for 45 years. That is really remarkable

So, who is the woman in the new Top Gear host team? Very accomplished, at many things, and has been racing on the ring probably more than anyone else... she was BMW's driver

Sabine Schmitz is as famed as a motor racing driver for BMW and Porsche is she is famous for driving the BMW 'Ring Taxi' around the Nurburgring race track, for 14 years, where tourists could pay to ride along with a pro driver

She has also been on Top Gear before, in 2004 she competed with Jeremy in a Jag around the Ring, and beat him by 47 seconds... and raced him in a van... yeah, a van, and was only 9 seconds off his pace

she won the 24 Hours Nurburgring in 1996 and 97.
She also trained as a hotel manager and sommelier, and she owned a bar-restaurant in Nurburg

And if fast cars weren't challenge enough, Sabine qualified as a helicopter pilot in 2004.

Aug 5th 2012 NHRA O'Reilly Nationals ended in a unique way. 2 women won in the pro classes, and a woman won Super Street.

Courtney Force, Erica Enders, and Megan Ellingson took home Wallys. The drag racing world took notice, it's not just a guys hobby anymore

72 year old Judi Bureski along with her husband Bill have been racing since the ’60s, and Judi is still dropping the hammer on her '70 442, for mid 11s at 117mph

the white car has not missed a racing season the past 31 years, hitting a best of 11.09 at 118.

the purple with white conv top is also theirs, and is a 1970 Oldsmobile 442, an Indianapolis 500 Pace Car model that actually was on the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Bill hit the quarter-mile in the 1960s, first with Pontiacs. The Bureskis switched to Oldsmobile when they bought a brand-new ’68 Hurst Olds and immediately turned it into a race car. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in 1976 after rolling off their trailer while traveling down an interstate.

this car was once driven daily by Dr Salk. Of course, it wasn't a pink SCCA Champion then

 the Sports Car Club of America’s first female National Champion, Donna Mae Mims, captured the SCCA H-Production Championship in this 1959 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk I that had been purchased new by Dr. Jonas Salk.

Salk bought the Sprite in 1959 in Paris and imported it into the United States as his daily driver.

 The car’s next owner was Bill Wissel, who prepared the Austin-Healey for competition in SCCA and in 1962, he sold the car to aspiring racer and self-proclaimed “Fancier of Corvettes” Donna Mae Mims, "Donna Mazing, Her Supreme Pinkness" the 1961 SCCA B-Production winner in a 1958 Corvette.

How was it Mims was so focused and winning? Well, it was her nature, and she also kept a day job as the High Performance PR Manager of Yenko's dealership, and ran the 1972 Cannonball in a limo with co-drivers Judy Stropus and Peggy Niemcek

 In her time behind the wheel of the Sprite, Mims would capture three SCCA National wins, plus enough points to deliver her the H-Production championship.
